NEW DELHI: Last week a researcher, Gal Beniamini, posted a blog post claiming that 57% of the Android smartphones have still not received the monthly security patch released in May, which fixes a security vulnerability affecting the devices and users privacy. The researcher also talked about the loop holes in Qualcomm's security and how it can be used to weaken the Android device's encryption. As mentioned by TechCrunch, the researcher was later awarded by Google for hunting down the bug via the company's bug bounty programme. Google added that while it appreciates the researcher's effort, it rolled out patches for these Qualcomm-related issues "earlier this year."
